Sweet Jazz

Today is the anniversary of Jazz passing away. He was a huge part of our lives for over 12 years and not a day goes by that we don't talk about him or miss him terribly. Brady still cries and I can tell that he is hurting not having him with us. So we will probably get them a dog for Christmas or sometime after that...
We miss u, Jazz....

Trying 2 Catch Up!!

Wow! It has been a week since I updated my blog and alot has happened. Sal and I decided to update the kitchen so I started peeling off some old, outdated border...can't believe we even had border..but anyway, that turned into a 2 day project and that stuff is still stuck on there!
Brady had his first football game and sacked the quarterback twice. He is playing linebacker and is loving it! We are so proud of him. He is not the big stand out on the field but he is the one that comes from nowhere and will just lay someone out. He is skinny but that boy has heart and is really tough. Looking forward to watching my kids in everything that they choose to do!
I will keep the blog posted on the ongoing kitchen project. Sal and I are doing it all by ourselves so we will see how that goes. We have a budget set so hopefully, we can stick to it. Although, he now wants to knock down half of a wall that is in the breakfast nook and add a bar for the kids to sit at. Wish us luck!!!

Field Trip!

I took off work today to go to Old McDonald's farm with Aryn and her class. We had such a good time looking at the camel, pigs, donkies, zebras and sharks!! Yes, they even had a shark exhibit. Who would have thought that the Ark/Ok State Fair would have something so neat. After that I took her to eat lunch and then we went to a couple of different stores...just had a good day spending some quality time together. I do feel bad that I never took anytime off of work to go on any trips with Brady when he was in preschool...but I rarely take off work. But I promised my kids and myself that I will do that with them from here on out!

Gymnastics and Football

Aryn started gymnastics last night. She was so, so cute!! She loved it! AND Brenna Taylor is in her class so I will get to see Leah or Ryan on Wednesdays..maybe Brenna and Aryn will become buddies, which would be so fun. When she woke up this morning she asked if she gets to put on another outfit and go back tonight. heehee! But for now we are only doing one thing a week with her.
Here is how every week for the next 6 weeks looks for us:
Monday-football game
Tuesday- possibly football practice
Wednesday- gymnastics
Thursday- football practice
Friday-nothing unless the Grizzlies are playing at home! :)
Saturdays-football practice
Sunday-church and then a whole lot of nothing!!
Now I know more people are way busier than us but we don't like to be too busy and overwhelm the kids. Brady always has homework and needs to be reading or something on top of his already busy schedule. So anyway,I snapped some pics of the kids! Enjoy! -Nicole

Mommy and me time

Since the boys are at practice almost everyday during the week, Aryn and I get to spend some quality time together. So today we decided that mommy needed to get back into my routine of walking everyday. Aryn jumped in the wagon and off we went. We got to do some pretty good hills...which is exactly what I need to be doing. I am usually an avid walker but it has been so busy lately that I have not had any time at all. So this is going to be our new thing. And when Brady is with us, he jumps on his back and rides in front of us. It is so much fun to do this stuff with the kids and they love it too. Aryn sings the whole time and Brady tries out new tricks on his bike...so cute!

Baby Payton

isn't she sweet?
Guess who came to visit her great Aunt Nicole? She is such a sweet baby...hard, but sweet. She is having belly problems and is fussy but she is adorable. I just love her and so do the kids. I got to watch her most of Saturday and I now remember how I got so skinny after giving birth....YOU DON'T GET TO EAT OR MOVE WHEN YOU HAVE A NEW BORN!!! So maybe I need to watch Payton everyday! :) Anyway, we had a good weekend. Brady had practice and then we had a cook out with the team and then he stayed all night with Will. And since the boys stayed up most of the night, that boy slept all day on Sunday. Hope everyone is doing well! -Nicole

Not a whole lot going on!!

Not a whole lot to write about today. Well, my sister n law had an ultrasound yesterday and it IS a girl!! Unless this baby grows some boy parts, we are buying pink!!! And my brother is in Houston for his appointment about his skin cancer. Please say a prayer for him.....
I love to read quotes and little sayings and I saw this one and wanted to post it.

"I believe that everything happens for a reason.
People change so that you can learn to let go,
things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they are right,
you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust noone but yourself,
and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together".

Father/Daughter dance

Last night was the 1st annual Father/Daughter dance at church. Our Nightwing group put it on as a fundraiser for the school. It was so much fun and very sweet to watch all the dads dancing with their daughters. It was very touching to see how proud all the girls were to be dancing with their daddies. Aryn and Sal had such a good time. A few of the dads came up to me after it was over to thank us for doing this for them...it meant so much to so many of them. They played all the tear jerking songs like, "Butterfly Kisses" and 'In My Daughters Eyes'...I recorded alot of it so Aryn will be able to watch it later. I truly enjoyed this event.....

FINALLY!!!

Brady can now FINALLY ride a bike! That boy has had no desire to learn to ride his bike. When we go outside, he wants to play ball or ride his scooter. But this morning he woke up and decided he wanted to learn. It didn't take long either. He is so funny! Aryn rode around him with her little bike...like she was sooo much better than him. She is a mess!

I love this....

Quote for the day:

'Whatever you give a woman, she's going to multiply.

If you give her a house, she'll give you a home.

If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal.

If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart.

She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her.'

So - if you give her crap…….you will receive more sh** than any one human being can handle

Football has begun!!

Tonight is the beginning of Brady's 3rd year of football. He will practice EVERY night for 2 weeks and then he will have his first game. I think they might be playing 2 nights a week or maybe just one this year...not sure. But needless to say, he will be one busy little boy. So while the boys are at practice, Ms. Aryn Paige and I are going shopping for a pretty party dress. Sunday at church we are having the 1st annual Father/Daughter dance. I haven't told her yet but she is going to be so excited. So far over 33 dads have signed up with their daughters and we are expecting many more. This will be so special for everyone involved. I can't wait to take pics of Sal and Aryn together.....

Football tryouts and this stinking rain!!

Well, Brady had tryouts and he and his good friend, Will, got drafted on the same team!!! They are both so excited!!! So they will now get to play on the same team together for 2 years.
This rain is making my head hurt. I swear, everytime there is a storm, something happens to our house. The tree in my neighbors yard fell and took out her shed and our cable and electric too!!

Funeral

I just got back from a funeral for the 13 year old daughter of a friend of mine. Stephanie and I were good friends in high school and were on drill team together. The little girl basically just didn't wake up. This is the second funeral for a child that I have went to this year. I pray I don't have to ever attend another one. I can't even imagine the grief her and her family are going through. The thought of burying a child is too much for me to handle. The service was beautiful though and Denise was an adorable little girl. Something like that really makes you want to hold those close to you even closer.....

The Naturals ballgame

<

Okay, this was so much fun! Sunday we went to 7:30 mass and then to breakfast with the kids and my sister n laws. We wanted to get on the road by 10:30 or so because we still needed to get our tickets to the game. We got up to Springdale and got our tickets and decided to go to The Promenade. Good grief! That place is a little tiring!! Well, if it was just Sal and I, we could have stayed all day but with the kids, they tend to get hot and tired very quickly. We told Jesse that we would come by his house about 2:30 or 3 so we needed to finish up and hurry. We found his house and got to meet his sweet baby Mia...so stinking cute! She is a good mix of he and Alex. We all went to the game and had such a good time. Brady and Aryn we so excited and were so well behaved! The Naturals lost the game but the fireworks at the end was so good. I think I could say that it was one of the neatest displays we have seen! Gotta go for now. We are taking the kids and some of their friends to the pool for the 'end of the summer' party. Enjoy the pics! I will post some to my shutterfly as soon as I get a chance. -Nicole

Busy Day on Saturday

We had such a good time with the kids this weekend!! Saturday morning we got up and went shopping. We needed to exchange Brady's football pads at Academy and we saw that Keith Jackson was there signing autographs. Brady and I had no idea who he was but since he was somewhat famous, we thought we would get his autograph on a football. After we left there, the kids wanted to go to Chili's to eat. They were having there kickoff for their St Jude's fundraiser...which is an awesome event and I have no problems donating to this cause. Especially since my boss and his family were there and Ashton is now cancer free. We still had a few more stops to make to finish up our shopping so after it was all done, I took the kids swimming. This is the last weekend the pool will be open so I wanted to make sure they got to swim and have a good time with their friends there.

Oh, and Friday night Baby Payton came to visit...she is so sweet! My kids love her and we really could keep her!! :)
