Rough Morning...

So this morning was another pleasant one with Aryn. She is so particular about what she wears that it ends up being a fight at least 3 days out of the week. I mean, she is 4 YEARS OLD!!! This isn't supposed to start until the teenage years, right? Wrong! Well, this morning she didn't want to wear her pants, her socks feel funny, her shoes are falling off, etc. My sister n law came over and got to witness me losing my mind! This sweet, beautiful, big brown eyed girl turns into some crazy, head spinning devil. I swear..I am not overreacting! So after spanking her and finally getting her to calm down, we found another pair of pants and she put them on. In the meantime, Brady is steering clear of any flying objects and just being his normal sweet self. Later, he comes in and sees me crying on the edge of the bed. I hate to spank her but I know it has to be done...otherwise, the behavior will continue and things will only get worse. So anyway, I kiss him goodbye and he is off to school....Fabi said she would take him, I guess she wanted out of there. Aryn then walks in with her little red cheeks and gives me a big hug and tells me that she loves me. I am crying and that makes her feel bad too so she starts to cry again. I ask her why she does that and all she can say is, 'I don't know why, I just do'....
I am glad she is so strong willed and very indepedant....I really am. I think she is going to be 10x the person I could ever imagine being but right now, it is hard dealing with that in the mornings. It makes me late for work and I send her off to school upset and I am upset the rest of the day.
But at the end of the day she is still a 'mommy's girl' and has forgotten about all the drama from that morning. I am hoping this is just a phase....keeping my fingers crossed anyway!

I am off tomorrow so I could go to the kids Halloween parties at their schools. And then tomorrow night we are going to The Hindley's for some trick or treating! We had such a good time last year that they are doing it again this year. So I hope everyone has a great Halloween. -Nicole

Happy Wednesday!

When I don't have alot of time, I tend to post a quote. I find one that will sum up my mood or just something that might mean something. So I found this one and I really, really liked it.

I believe in pink.
I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner.
I believe in kissing, kissing a lot.
I believe in being strong when
everything seems to be going wrong.
I believe that happy girls are the
prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow
is another day and I believe in miracles.

Kiddos

Just wanted to post a recent pic of the kids...just too cute!

I'm Back!!!

  1. before

So we have been doing some really long over due improvements to our kitchen. As you can see in the before pic, I had some really old border up there and when we tried to strip it, it started taking off the wall! Gotta love old houses. But after 3 1/2 weekends of working really late and getting up really early, we are done!!! Well, with the kitchen anyway. We put up crown molding, texturized the walls, tiled the countertops and back splash, put a trim on the countertops and stained it, put up a new microwave and all new wall decor. We are still going to get an new stove but Sal is waiting for me to clean the old one out.....yuck! So I will get to that really soon so I can get my stove that matches my new microwave. We will take a break for a few weekends and then we are going to put up crown molding in the bedrooms and repaint our room. We are still waiting on our roofer to put on our new roof. So if you drive by my house, sorry for looking like trash and making the neighborhood look bad...not to mention our back porch will get replaced too. So until then, the inside looks fab but the outside...not so fab!

Update on my brother: he does NOT have cancer. They ended up removing a lymph node and a saliva gland, did a biopsy and it came back clear. He will not have to do any preventive treatments but maybe an occasional xray or something.

Brady has one more football game left...thank goodness. This year has not been so successful. We have such talent on our team but if you don't have great coaching, well, what do you do? So we will have a little bit of a break until basketball starts. So until then, I am getting back to my power walking. I haven't had time and it is really starting to show..not going to blog on body issues but ugggggghhhhhh!!!
