So this morning was another pleasant one with Aryn. She is so particular about what she wears that it ends up being a fight at least 3 days out of the week. I mean, she is 4 YEARS OLD!!! This isn't supposed to start until the teenage years, right? Wrong! Well, this morning she didn't want to wear her pants, her socks feel funny, her shoes are falling off, etc. My sister n law came over and got to witness me losing my mind! This sweet, beautiful, big brown eyed girl turns into some crazy, head spinning devil. I swear..I am not overreacting! So after spanking her and finally getting her to calm down, we found another pair of pants and she put them on. In the meantime, Brady is steering clear of any flying objects and just being his normal sweet self. Later, he comes in and sees me crying on the edge of the bed. I hate to spank her but I know it has to be done...otherwise, the behavior will continue and things will only get worse. So anyway, I kiss him goodbye and he is off to school....Fabi said she would take him, I guess she wanted out of there. Aryn then walks in with her little red cheeks and gives me a big hug and tells me that she loves me. I am crying and that makes her feel bad too so she starts to cry again. I ask her why she does that and all she can say is, 'I don't know why, I just do'....
I am glad she is so strong willed and very indepedant....I really am. I think she is going to be 10x the person I could ever imagine being but right now, it is hard dealing with that in the mornings. It makes me late for work and I send her off to school upset and I am upset the rest of the day.
But at the end of the day she is still a 'mommy's girl' and has forgotten about all the drama from that morning. I am hoping this is just a phase....keeping my fingers crossed anyway!
I am off tomorrow so I could go to the kids Halloween parties at their schools. And then tomorrow night we are going to The Hindley's for some trick or treating! We had such a good time last year that they are doing it again this year. So I hope everyone has a great Halloween. -Nicole
